Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure for the eyelids. It involves removing excess skin, fat, and muscle from the upper or lower eyelids to improve their appearance and rejuvenate the surrounding area.
The goal of blepharoplasty is to create a more youthful and refreshed appearance, improve vision by removing sagging skin that obstructs the field of view, and enhance self-confidence. The procedure can be performed on the upper or lower eyelids or both and is typically performed under local or general anesthesia.
If you live outside the Turkey area, we arrange for accommodations. We help you arrange for your post op care needs.
Postoperative support - You should not be alone for the first 24 hours after surgery unless sedation is used for your procedure.
There are many medications and supplements that should be avoided for two weeks before surgery. These include, but are not limited to, aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Bufferin, Naprosyn, and high-dose vitamin E. If you have mild pain or headaches both weeks before surgery, pain medication may be used.
There are several medical tests and clearances that must be completed prior to surgery. Including:
• Patients under 45 years of age: complete blood count, hepatitis B and C antibodies, and HIV test.
• Patients 45 to 65 years old: complete blood count, hepatitis B, and C antibodies, HIa V test, medical confirmation letter from your own doctor (after a complete physical exam), and electrocardiogram (ECG).
• Patients over 65 years old: complete blood count, hepatitis B and C antibodies, HIV test, medical confirmation letter from your own doctor (after a thorough physical exam), electrocardiogram (ECG), and X-ray chest.
• Wear dark sunglasses on your return trip. You may be sensitive to light.
• Ointments used during surgery may cause your vision to become blurred. This is temporary and usually goes away within 24 hours.
• Do not wear contact lenses until at least 2 weeks after surgery. You can wear glasses.
• Do not drive until you have stopped taking the pain medication and no longer have blurred vision. Make sure you can drive safely and comfortably. This is usually about 5-10 days after surgery.
• It is important that you rest calmly and peacefully for the first 3 to 4 days after surgery. To do this:
• Avoid activities such as heavy lifting and exercise.
• Tell your healthcare provider if you have nausea (feeling like you're about to vomit) or cold symptoms. It is important that you avoid sneezing, coughing and vomiting as much as possible. These can raise your blood pressure and cause bleeding at your surgical sites.
• Avoid bending your waist or lifting anything heavier than 5 pounds (2.3 kg) for 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. Talk to your surgeon before resuming your usual activities, such as lifting and exercising.
• Rest and sleep with your head elevated on 2-3 pillows for 2 weeks or as directed by your surgeon. This will help prevent swelling at your surgical sites.
• Your eyes may be swollen and bruised after surgery. Swollen eyelids are usually worse early in the morning and improve during the day when you sit or walk. You may also experience swelling on your cheeks and jawline. This condition should begin to improve 2-3 weeks after surgery.

Typically, patients are advised to stay in Turkey for 5-7 days after a blepharoplasty procedure. During this time, patients will have follow-up appointments with their surgeon to monitor their progress and ensure that they are healing properly.
It's typically recommended to arrive in Turkey 2-3 days before your blepharoplasty procedure. This allows you to meet with your surgeon, have any preoperative tests and evaluations, and prepare for the surgery.
The results of blepharoplasty (blepharoplasty) are generally long-lasting. It's not uncommon for results to vary slightly between patients, but you can expect upper eyelid surgery results to last about 5-7 years, and lower eyelid surgery results to be essentially forever.
You can have eyelid surgery at any time. But if you're looking for someone for aging, you'll usually get the best results after age 40. Older adults should generally avoid the procedure due to the risk of surgical complications.
In general, upper eyelid blepharoplasty is a painless procedure that patients can usually perform and benefit from a minimal amount of postoperative pain medication, as the procedure is so gentle. It is almost like the excision of the skin and the eyelids themselves are painless.
Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, removes excess fat, skin, and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids to give you a more youthful, vibrant appearance. If drooping eyelids interfere with your vision, your insurance may cover the procedure.
Yes. Double eyelid surgery (top and bottom blepharoplasty) can enlarge your eyes by removing excess skin around your eyes and lifting sagging skin.
This surgery is worthwhile for people who want to look younger and more comfortable in and around the eyes. The results are subtle but dramatic, and the recovery is mild with little reported pain.
Eyelid surgery can affect your vision in different ways, both short-term and long-term. Immediately after blepharoplasty, patients may notice changes in their vision during recovery. As eye tissue begins to heal, blurred or disorienting vision is normal.
People who are not ideal candidates for eyelid surgery are those with chronic dry eyes, high blood pressure, impaired circulation, thyroid disorders, diabetes, or heart disease. People with glaucoma should talk to their doctor before considering surgery to find out if it's safe for them.
