What is Tummy Tuck?

A tummy tuck, also known as an abdominoplasty, is a procedure used to get rid of belly fat that has sagged below the navel. It's designed to treat sagging that can't be treated with exercise or a healthy diet. It is a procedure used to get rid of chaps and sagging in women who have had cesarean sections, during pregnancy, or in situations where there has been constant weight gain and loss.

People may feel uncomfortable if they notice sagging or cracks in their bodies, particularly in the belly, therefore we can say that these operations are also extremely beneficial for the patient to feel better.

Before Tummy Tuck Surgery

Any surgery including a tummy tuck should start with a consultation with your plastic surgeon. Your doctor will assess your health at this appointment and may wish to talk about your surgical objectives, your medical conditions, allergies if you have, other operations you’ve had before, cigarette and alcohol consumption, etc.

Before your surgery, you should let your doctor know if you have a cold, fever, the flu, or a sore throat so they can decide whether you need to reschedule. Do not consume cigarettes and alcohol. Also prohibited are chewing tobacco, nicotine gum, nicotine patches, or nicotine vape pens. This is an issue of major health concerns on our part, not of morality.

Throughout the day, sip on lots of electrolyte-containing beverages. Eat a high-protein, low-fat dinner the night before your procedure, such as grilled chicken salad.

Prepare a few cozy outfits to wear during the upcoming few days. In this way, you won't have to stoop over to choose outfits or ask someone to look for your clothes.

After Tummy Tuck Surgery

After a belly tuck surgery, the surgical dressing is likely applied over your belly button and the abdominal incision. Small tubes may be positioned at the incision to drain any surplus blood. Members of your medical team will begin supporting you with walking as soon as the first day after a tummy tuck to help prevent the formation of blood clots. Drains may be in place for a few days following surgery. Your doctor or another member of your medical team will demonstrate to you how to clean and maintain your drains. Additionally, your surgeon could advise taking a blood thinner for a short while following your tummy tuck.

After a tummy tuck, you should be careful while moving for the first six weeks. You must also avoid positions that strain the incision line, such as abruptly bending at the waist, to prevent the scar from reopening.

Tummy Tuck Healing Process

If you follow your doctor's instructions, your recovery process will be quite simple. However, you need to be careful for 2 months. A tummy tuck can improve the appearance of your belly by removing extra skin and fat and strengthening your abdominal wall.

If you don't see an answer to your question, you can send us an email from our contact form.

There are points that you must be careful of even if it’s an easy operation. Absolutely no heavy lifting while you're recovering. Driving, swimming, and other intense activities should be avoided until your surgeon provides the all-clear. For two to three weeks, stay at home and rest.

Do not push yourself to do anything physically until you are prepared; permit yourself to rest completely for at least two weeks.

Please do not eat fried foods, baked foods, fast food, etc. For your health, it is important to eat healthily.

Actually, no. Especially, please don’t drink coffee right after the operation. You should avoid consuming caffeine at least for the first couple of weeks after the surgery.

It's essential to drink plenty of water after having a tummy tuck. Following surgery, plain water, tea, and clear broths made with lean meats are wonderful ways to make sure you're getting enough fluids.

Reduce your waist size and regain your confidence in your contours with a professionally done tummy tuck. While some people may have significant belly reduction, others may experience more minor changes. Everything is dependent on how much tissue may be safely removed.

You can come to Turkey two or three days before the surgery.

Please don’t go back to your country for at least 2 weeks.

There are some things not to do before the surgery such as “Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, and other similar anti-inflammatory drugs” should not be taken because they cause more bleeding.

If you smoke, please quit before the operation. Do not take some drugs such as aspirin because they can increase bleeding and go to lab testing.
